    My 89 8V has arrived!

Much excitement to share! - my 89 8V has finally arrived. The delay was all mine - having purchased the car in January, I had to build myself a garage. My friend graciously allowed the car to stay at her house, and drove it periodically for me. Last week the car arrived, and I have been driving it every day since. My one week of Delta overdose!

It shared truck space with some very expensive, yet less rare machines (here in the US, at least). The car is a delight to drive, with wonderful steering and a goodly bit of power.

Is this the Lord Blue one that was on BAT earlier this year?

Congrats! Where did you find it? A delta is very much on my want list.

Re: My 89 8V has arrived!

I stumbled upon the car sometime last winter, contacted the then owner (Jose Alvarez @ Vistec imports - he imports cars from Japan for a living and had bought himself this car about a year prior) and began talks. I'l been half heartedly searching for a Delta for awhile when I found this. I had no garage space at the time - I had framed myself a new garage but it was by no means ready to park a vehicle in, so my east coast pal kept & drove the car for me throughout the spring and summer - I am glad, bc old Italian cars hate to just be parked. The previous owner was wonderful to deal with, and though he doesn't generally import Italian cars, he clearly knows cars.

It has almost 100,000 km on the odometer and appears to have been taken great care of. The car is a japanese market 1989 8V, originally Lords Blue, paint code 438. There is another 8V that color in NJ (owned by a fellow named Jason, who has some nice info on the integralingham website). It is a shame I didn't get to drive the car to meet him in NJ and snap a photo of the two blue ones!

For now i am working out some little imperfections (the interior light switch was dirty, I needed to install foglights, etc) and having fun. I drove it every day for the first week I owned it, but now work has intervened. It is the first all wheel drive car I have owned, and the first turbocharged car. It makes great power and has great traction, even on winter tires. Next year on summer tires should be even more exciting.

If you drive it in the winter just remember to constantly wash off that damned potassium chlorate or whatever corrosive chemical it is that they spray on the roads! That crap is pure evil for cars.

Congratulations on the 8V, by the way. Me want!
