Ed, with your civility I do not expect that kind of behavior,...

Regarding the US red tape, I have heard some crazy rules before that proves to me that these "people" deliberately make rules and regulations so that they have things to do called their jobs. Mind you that there were several branches of "authorities" besides the initial customs barrier.

My Fulvia received her license plate finally and I chose the number 818 for it. She is road worthy now but have not driven the car myself yet. My friend at the shop has driven around 100km and he was genuinely impressed with the car overall.

With the weather permitting, I would take her out for a spin soon.

PS. Cannot seem to upload pics...

    hi jimmy,
uploading pictures here is a little different than other websites. i have found that if the picture is captured from another website i can cut and paste them in.
if you're uploading from your computer use the upload manager window that appears when you click on the paper clip for attachments. there's a size limit for uploads so be aware you may have to re-size the picture. the upload tool won't re-size for you. it's not super intuitive, but once you do it a few times it's not too bad.
when i checked the upload manager just now it indicates a 1.9 mb max file size.
i hope you figure it out as we're all waiting to see your fulvia that you've been patiently waiting for.

B, thanx for the uploading tips but still encountering difficulties....

Meanwhile, from Tokyo to Yokohama, around 40km, all street driving, weather was ideal, never drove a Lancia before myself, suffice to say that I am pleasantly surprised how nice the drive was and the overall experience. For a relatively small engine, she is very much up to the task of engaging driving pleasure. This car is indeed very different from the rest of my cars and it is refreshing.

Everything worked fine and no issues except for the weak turn signal stick, not broken but does not return to neutral when lowering for left turn. No big deal. Aside from this, the engine, brakes, gears all are great.

Also, I am very impressed by the build quality, like the doors' & panels' fit, all very solid. A very nice, charming car with a personality. Driving feel is rewarding. Quite impressed by how light and quick the rpm reacts too. The maximum speed limit for streets here is 60kph so I have not pushed at all but still very enjoyable and gratifying.

I have to thank the previous owner in Italy who took such good care of this car and maintaining her in such good shape for a 49 years old Fulvia.

Well, what do you know, finally succeeded in uploading a photo that I took yesterday with Iphone.

It's a great car, very different in feel from the others I own.
