Oil brand/weight? What is everyone out there using?

Well, what seems to be the consensus? Surprisingly enough, could not find a thread on this. Search button has failed me!

I run RedLine full synthetic. 20W-50 for my 1600, but I think you'd want 10W-40 for a 1300 on standard compression.

I have been using Shell Rotella T 15W/40 in my Fulvia 1.3 and my Alfa's. This oil is available almost everywhere and has a high zinc content that these older engines require and all the cars perform well and have good oil pressure.
Hemmings also has some oils with a high zinc content but it is much more expensive.

In my modified 1200 with 11.5:1 CR I use 15W50 Motul 300V competition fully synthetic. I would not recommend this oil in any other than fully rebuild and cleaned engines.
I rate this oil as fantactic. No wear to be spotted and my engine does not consume it.

    Hi

    A bit of topic perhaps.
DCAlbarran forgive me hijacking this thread, but William:

Do you run Your 1200 HF on pumpfuel? In that case What octane rating and brand? Shell V-Power 98 octane?
Or do you run it on race fuel/mix of pumpfuel/racefuel?

You run the highest CR Ive seen on this forum (at least for a car registered for the road)

It runs OK on 98 octane but way better on 102. I was in the Uk the other week and I do not know what the octane number is of regular fuel in the UK, I presume 95, but it was pinking even with a whole bottle of octane booster added to a tank fill. It pinked especially pulling uphill with RPM below 4K. The way to avoid pinking is feathering the throttle and keeping the revs up when you aren't.
    Cheers,
    William
