    Re: Fulvia Cylinder Head Identification

Blue and yellow = 1st series 1.3HF and 1.6HF. Various S2 1600HF/1600Sport have had their covers repainted from solid yellow to have the blue stripe (I have as I liked it and my 1600HFengine is tuned to works 130bhp). I have also noticed that S2 Yellow only covers seem to be on the whole a darker yellow than the S1 colour

    All S1, including 1.2HF but excluding 1,3HF / 1.6HF: black crackle

    S1 1,3HF / 1,6HF: yellow / blue / yellow

    All S2, including Fulvia '3' but excluding 1600HF / Sport1600 : natural aluminum

    S2 1600HF / Sport 1600: yellow

The only visible, non original change on my 1200HF is the adoption of the yellow and Blue for the valve cover.
I like the crackle but not for an HF. It has never cost me any concours points though. I guess judges expect Yellow and Blue for an HF because it matches the stripes;-)

It's been my experience that 99% of concours judges are utterly clueless about Fulvias -- HFs not least

The ALC does not do judged concours at our reunions. But in any case I was speaking about open concours.
