Read Geoff Goldberg excellent book on De Virgilio (http://www.amazon.com/Lancia-De-Virg.../dp/1935007254) which also describes the relation between De Virgilio (mathematician, with solutions from a theoretical approach) and Zaccone Mina (Practical hit-and-mis guy, who started at the aluminium foundry, turned out to be a gifted draftsman, and worked his way up through the racing department (D-series aurelia) and iinto the main engine department after the forced 'retirement' of De Virgilio.) The book has a chapter on Lancia engine post Flaminia, including Fulvia and also Gamma.

    Thanks Bart.
I have read the book and spoke to Geoff Goldberg at Castlemaine.
Maybe Geoff's book has spoiled us in revealing so much about De Virgilio but it also highlights how little we know about EZM a man who designed engines for F1 and family sedans ( I have a 1964 Fulvia Normale "1C'). A different time but all the same it would be nice to know a bit more him.
