    Yes, it acts as "pressure regulator", be it a rather "crude" one. I still prefer a genuine pressure regulator on the Fulvia, even on S2/3. I guess Lancia 5Fiat) deleted them for cost reasons. The Solex carbs are rather sensitive to constant and correct fuel pressure (the spring loaded ball in the float needle). For Dellortos, a genuine fuel pressure regulator is almost mandatory, also in a S2/3 Fulvia. The fuel pressure for the Dellortos needs to be unusually low and constant.
