    1981 Beta Coupe Project

Well Im the lucky winner of 'that one' the black 1981 Beta Coupe in SoCal.

Donated to a charity facility, the car was found on an ebay quick and dirty 3 day auction.

Paid the seller, found a transporter and 3 days after auction close, it's here in Vegas.

I had a pretty open mind based on the auction pics, for the money I think it was well worth it.

Here it is after it's arrival bath. I love the sunroof-delete.

There will be plenty of sorting and poking and prodding, but it's a solid car with only a few things to un-do / fix.

I'll have more to report on its vitals once I put a battery in it.

Looks pretty decent. I always liked the sunroofs, but the A pillars are bound to be a in lot better shape without a leaky sunroof draining water through them. In any case, good luck with it.

Angry Re: 1981 Beta Coupe Project

My '81s fuzzy strip always leaked. Dealer replaced it, I did a 2ND time. Rain on my head ...

    Re: 1981 Beta Coupe Project

I gave the car a thorough walk-around have come up with a wish list of used parts I'd like to get ahold of. The car is pretty complete with the exception of a few things - as to be expected.

If anyone has the following laying around for 81 or compatible leet me know:

    -Dome light cover
    -Mutli-function blinker / light switch
-Rear license plate bracket / light
    -Right side trunk carpet
    -Pass side headlight surround
-Pass side core support (core support to strut tower)
-Lock & Key set (doors, trunk, glove box)
    -Drivers side mirror (thru-glass)

Not in a huge hurry, plenty of mechanical projects to tend to as well.

I stuck a battery in it and got it started, leaking water from somewhere.
Going to prepare to swap on a rebuilt head while also doing the water pump / timing belt / etc.

Once I get it on the lift I'll get some more invasive troubleshooting.

Did you find all the parts you were looking for, for this?
I may be able to dig out a couple of those things if you were still looking.
    Let me know

    Re: 1981 Beta Coupe Project

Just an FYI...I purchased a set of front and rear seats and a few odds and ends from Raul aka "zagato8182" and he was fantastic! He was great to deal with and the products were 100% as described. He is very trustworthy. Other than buying Lancia parts front him on eBay I never dealt with him before. Not that many people in this world that you can do a hand shake deal with and he was one...that is why I felt the need to give him an unsolicited promo.
