    Rosa Mirabello?

    Hello Everyone,

I’m after somehelp with respect to the original colour of my 1969 1,3S Fulvia Zagato chassisnumber 818.363.1221.

I have stripped the underseal from the car, and it looks like it was painted in pale grey with speckled white flecks like old stove enameling.

Then on the body shell. I have found a copper colour under battleship grey. The copper colour has also been applied into the wheel arches and onto the scuttle of the engine bay. The copper was under the underseal in the arches and had also been applied to the silastic between the chassis on the bodywork.

Having seen other LFZ it seems body colour doesn’t extent to the engine bay and wheel arches.

So, my question is was my car copper originally? Is it Rosa Mirabello? Would the paint originally have extended beyond the bodyshell and what was the original treatment of the underside?

I have attached a few photos if that helps discussion.

    Regards
    Steve

    Re: Rosa Mirabello?

    Hi Steve
    Nice project!
    A couple of points.
Lancia supplied the chassis the Zagato and I believe these were always satin black, so anything under the engine bay black paint is a bit of a mystery. Secondly Rosa mirabella is not a Z colour and is metallic... ( rosso salmone is A Z colour and non metallic but that does not look like...).

I am not sure if the underside colouring you have got is a result of the paints reacting over time? But this does not explain the body pink where the lights and numberplate were.

Btw was there any grey overspray on the rear lights etc?

    Re: Rosa Mirabello?

    Thanks Lancialulu
Just to clarify the body colour paint extended time the scuttle under the windscreen and the upper horizontal ledge to the rear and sides of the bay everything else below was painted satin black.

To me the paint is a metallic bronze colour the original UK registration has the car paint colour as Bronze.

I thought Rosso Salmone was the competizione “orange” colour?

    Appreciate any guidance
    Steve

    Ed
My car looks the same bronze colour as the HF that is for sale in Portugal.

What colour would that have been?
    Thanks

It's hard to accurately tell the color under fluorescent lighting, but it doesn't appear to be bronzo Ascot met.; it appears to be either bronzo Windsor met. or rosa Mirabella met.
