    Re: Dual Weber Carb Kits?

Thank you all for your input. I went with Pierce Manifolds with dual Weber 40 DCNF. Waiting to get them installed when my mechanic can slot me in. Stay tuned for the outcome.

I bought the Montecarlo at an auction in UK but the car was owned by a collector from Germany. It has 48K km! I imported it into US and registered in Arizona.

Question Re: Dual Weber Carb Kits?

    Soooo . . . I'm guessing you didn't read RJ80s post about intake manifolds . . . ?

It was inconclusive whether Pierce's manifold fit a Montecarlo/Scorpion properly, so we'll find out when Boxsterman's mechanic gets it installed. Looking forward to the results, my fingers are crossed.

    Great looking Monte... more photos!

The Monte is at my mechanic. He has installed a couple of these in Scorpions (one I saw with my very eyes). Unfortunately, he will not be able to get to it until early May (he is away on vacation) so please stay tuned for an update sometime in May.

    Re: Dual Weber Carb Kits?

As RJ80 predicted, we ran into a bit of a snag with the manifold and my mechanic is relocating the alternator. Also, a couple of fuel inlet fittings and banjo fitting bolts were missing from the kit but Pierce was quick to send these to us. Stay tuned for more updates as we go through the process...

    Re: Dual Weber Carb Kits?

It's my understanding that the Alquati dual DCNF manifold was originally sold with parts for re-orienting the alternator. I ended up lengthening the bracket and pushing the alternator forward so far as to breach the firewall by about 3/4".

Doesn't sound like clearance was an issue between the carbs & top of the engine bay? At least there's that...

did you import your car? Curious as to how it came to you.

    Re: Dual Weber Carb Kits?

I can’t imagine anyone needing answers not reading all of this thread. It seems nobody mentioned the alternator conflict. Both Alquati manifolds would also require repositioning the alternator, and any provisions for that which were sold new by Alquati are likely harder to come by than the manifold itself.

Persevere, Boxterman. Don’t let barbs & jabs sour you. Post up the results!
