    - unfortunately it's not driven more than 20 miles in the last 3 years and that was only 4 weeks ago after finishing a complete engine out back to bare metal resto so I'm not able to say. Hopefully I should get it back maybe next month so can try and establish more. When I do I'll try and do a quick video because you have to see it to believe it.

just checking your train of thought - do you think the cause might be the gearbox oil is all sludged up?

They're a Dino specialist with a crazy work pipeline so as much as I'm itching to chase them so I can start using it (especially after a 3 year resto.) I can't.

I restored it on the drive so it was only ever reversed our of the garage and then driven back in again. Probably about 100 times in the resto process. Appreciate that's not ideal. But it was after reversing it in gear and then putting into neutral and letting clutch out that I'd notice the almost imperceptible creeping forward. Drive is 100% flat so it definitely wasn't a roll. Reving it seemed to almost give it some more torque but again so imperceptible that if I hadn't got my wife to witness it you'd think you were imagining it.

If it was after taking it out of reverse it can't have anything to do with the synchros or gears I don't think (reverse has no synchro, just two gears and an idler). Probably more likely as lancialulu has insinuated that the oil is thick or has sludged some and could be causing the issue. If it heats up and doesn't do it when the oil is more viscous you have solved it. If new oil doesn't fix it I doubt it's something to be overly concerned with IMO.

i've had that happen to me in years gone by. i don't remember what car it was off hand but i just dismissed it as thick oil causing the shafts to spin. it never caused any problems and i don't recall if it ever stopped when the box was warmed up. if your oil is fresh and the box works properly otherwise, i wouldn't worry.
