If it is close to you, it would be great if you can have a look and post here. I saw the website, too, and looked at the photos. It feels strange, somehow. Starting with the way it is offered in an auction where typically more "everyday" objects seem to be sold. At least, it is missing some of the telltale Fanalone details - but it may just have lost these in almost fifty years. So I'm curious for any first-hand impression of its state and originality.

    Thanks,
    Bernt

Yes it is close to me.

Yep I agree it feels strange. The link for 'more info' does not work.
I know this site it has more often cars like this one. (modern and classic).

I am not a fanalone expert. Should it have the triangle openings next to the headlights!?.... tis one does not have those?!

I already saw this one in person in January of this year at a car show. It does look very very nice. It was for sale at that show. The seller said it was an original fanalone. (not a rally works car)

Do not ever buy a Fanalone (or any other HF) without confirming that the body stamp matches the chassis plate. In this case I don’t believe they will match...

Yep, the moment I saw it in January I thought it was a fake fanalone.

I will check the body stamp tomorrow. I presume it is in the same place as the other models.

The body stamp is in the same place as any other Coupé. It may be obscured by paint, in which case the paint needs to be removed; this is not a car to be taken on faith

Re: AUCTION: Lancia Fulvia 1.6HF Fanalone

I have seen this very car in an automobile exposition last January in the south of Holland.
it is a car which has been converted to historic rally spec in the 80's. It has been in Tenerife most of its life. With converted rally cars it is even harder to tell what the basis was and I was not very impressed by it at the time so I do not know. This was not because it was a bad car but this exposition had the marque Lancia as its main theme and there lots of more interesting Lancia's to admire.
If I remember well this car was offered for about 90k euros so I guess it will not be auctioned off much cheaper than that.

    Cheers,
    william

    William,

Can you confirm that it's real? Because I have my doubts based on the listing

    Hi Ed,
I'm afraid I cannot. I have just not spend enough time investigating it. I know that at first I was impressed to see a 'works' car but found out soon that it was a later conversion. I spoke briefly to the seller but he did not know an awful lot about it so we moved on to more interesting stuff.

It's very obviously a later rally conversion; my question is, "is it in fact an 818.540 at all?"
