    1st series sport shifter opening

    Hello,
We are doing some minor metal repair on our '67 sport and I was wondering if anyone has a template for the shifter opening in the floor. The PO modified the upper portion of the sheetmetal to house a 5 speed box but then re-installed the original 4 speed. I have the rubber boot that we can always use as a template since the bottom lip of the opening was not altered but a sketch could could also help.
    Thanks.
    Rich

If it is hard to fix, the whole part is available, like https://www.ricambilanciafulvia.it/e...a-4-marce.html

that's really the best solution. it would be difficult to recreate the opening with all the curvature and rolled edge. but if you still intend to do it let me know.

Re: 1st series sport shifter opening

    Hi guys,
Thanks for the inputs. The car has almost half of the bottom portion of the elongated opening including the lip to capture the rubber boot. My fabricator has no problem filling in the missing part but needs to know the vertical dimension of the opening to make sure we clear the shifter. If I could have a quick measument of the vertical and horizontal dimensions of an original opening that would be of great help. No rush since I brought the car yesterday and he plans to have for a while as he fixes other wear and tear items.
    Thanks.

measured as best i can, (the shift lever makes it difficult to get a direct reading). 4-7/8 high, 3-1/4 wide. this is the inside dimension.

These dimensions and the picture from Rosso Corsa are just what the fabricator needed.
    Thanks.

    you're quite welcome rich,
it actually turned out to be a good thing i removed the boot to measure that as my linkage was in severe need of lubrication. silky smooth now.
