    Re: Delortos advice

My 32 DHLB's came with what I assume were Dellorto trumpets, as the solex 32's that came off still have trumpets on them.
Anyone interested in a good pair of 32 solexes, overhauled a year or so before being replaced by the Dellorto's, Jetted for 1091cc?

The bright shiny trumpets are Dellorto (reproduction, you got the picture from the Dellorto site I assume). The second picture are Solex C.35 PHH (and PHH-E) trumpets (these are not the correct ones for the DHLB).

    Re: Delortos advice

Thanks for the confirmation vis trumpets. Very useful

Brian, I might be interested in the Solex32s. I have a pair obviously for my 1216 engine which I am rebuilding. Could you private message me with more info about what was overhauled etc
    Cheers

What I meant to say was that I have a pair of 32s but an overhauled set might be a better way to go than refreshing my own

    Re: Delortos advice

There is "overhaul" and overhaul. It is actually quite hard to get a set in really good condition again (there a surprisingly 200+ parts in a set, and each need to be cleaned, inspected, and if necessary repaired/replaced). Got lots of sets that are supposedly been "overhauled", but that aren't really done well. I hate it, because getting those OK takes me almost double work compared to a set that has not been tampered with. And it takes stocks of good parts of which some are no longer to be found. Specialist job really.

Now, if Brian says they were overhauled, it probably was done well. I know Brian, when he says they are overhauled, it is no doubt done properly.

    Re: Delortos advice

    Hi

I have now put the 108 main jets and 29 chokes in the carbs with the correct trumpets. I haven't as yet made any adjustments, but even without tuning the car is running much better

    Thanks for the advice again
    Simon
