'81 Beta Coupé FI - Accessing fuel line from firewall?

My '81 beta coupé FI has a leaky fuel line - in the rubber line that extends from the firewall into the engine compartment. It is exceedingly difficult to access. Any tips?

I did mine via the passenger-side wheelarch, had to remove the arch liner and rubber gaiter around the tierod, was still a PITA to access. If I had to do it again, I might lube up the barb and use wheelarch access to align the hose end with it, then try to press/twist/rock the hose from above to get it fully seated onto the barb.
