fuel pump with hand prime lever

During the restoration of my Lada Niva I found another item which might be for some use om a Fulvia. The fuel pump.
It has a smal lever which you can use to prime the carburators after the car has stood still for some time. I have checked the bolt spacing with a Fulvia fuel pump gasket and it is exactly the same.
Might be a nice alternative to an electric pump or a squeeze bal handpump I use to prime the carbs.

    Cheers,
    William

Price for an OEM lada pump 17euro.

That looks like an excellent upgrade, I may invest in one as a back up to my electric one.

Thanks a lot for posting this. I had been looking for a better way to prime the carbs after longer standstill, as that is really the only downside of the mechanical pump.

I recently saw a photo of a Fulvia engine with such a pump, but without any comment or detail. Now I know what to get!

What I forgot to ask last night:

Does anyone have experience with this punp in a Fulvia? Other than the dimensions of the flange, what else needs to be considered before using it?
    What do the experts say?

    Thanks for any insights,

    Bernt

I have not looked at my Fulvia pump but you would need to check the stroke as you would not want it bottoming and breaking something also the fuel pressure would want to be similar.

Lambert Freres sells fulvia fuel pump with priming lever on eBay. Kinda pricey at $69 but with free shipping from France.

Much easier to use an electric pump and you don't have to move from the drivers seat! My 2c lives in an air chamber inside my garage, but I can't get to the bonnet and the fuel pump without pulling the car backwards, and even then it's too dark to see without a torch.
Thinking about it can you even get to the fuel pump on a series 1 Fulvia as the mechanical fan and pillar are in the way?
