An article written by Grahame Ward some time ago quoted the VIN as 818.341.001167.

    Mick

I seem to remember reading this paper some years ago as it was about getting a works spec car HFR, but some of the details if I remember correctly did vary from the homologation specification....

Anyone got a copy to scan into this forum?

I might have an official specifications document (in french) about the privateers 1.3HFS var 1014.
Give me some time to look it up.

That really was exciting! I bought my S1 1.2 in NSW in 2001 and I once drove to Bathhurst in it. If my memory serves me right, some of the track was public road, is that right?

Just curious this is for HFS. Where does it say this conforms to VAR1014, which I thought was related the bored out engine, but we have discussed this before and I am still (maybe always) confused.

Is there a definative Var1014 spec sheet?

Not as far as I know. As I understand it, it was higher-compression pistons, different cams, and better breathing. The bored-out 1401cc engines were prototypes -- not homologated

Is the HFS different from the var. 1014? Its a bit befuddling...
