    Mystery Bracket

    Hi,

I'm slowly putting my S2 Coupe back together and in the parts that came with the car was this bracket, any idea what it is? It was in a box that also contained the choke lever.

pretty sure that's the part that starts the construction of the car. they start there and build the car around it.
    really though, no idea...

It's not oily or rusty so probably from the inside of the car

I can just imagine a guy standing in the middle of the factory holding up this part and others rushing to him to bolt their bits on and here begins the organic build of a Fulvia...

i thought the steering box bracket was a good thought, but it's not like the one on my car. i think you're right about being an interior part. pretty hefty, something around the steering column or pedal box?
    now i gotta know...

Pretty sure it is related to the choke... clearly a painful build with the Band-Aid packet in shot.

    Re: Mystery Bracket

i saw the band aids too. standard toolbox item for working on these tiny cars right? i looked the choke assembly over pretty closely and didn't see any bracket like this one. i looked all over the under dash area as well as in the engine bay. don't see it anywhere. then again, i have a s1 sport, and i think you're working on a s2 coupe so there are going to be some differences.
