  1. Re: Who has installed a Monte Hospital carpet set?

Thank you for the reply! It sounds like this is standard and the carpet will need some trimming. I wanted to be sure that's been other people's experience before diving in to where angels fear to...
  2. Who has installed a Monte Hospital carpet set?

I am finally getting around to putting in my carpet set from the Monte Hospital that I'd gotten almost 3 years ago. Most of the pieces are pretty obvious, but I'm puzzled by the footwells. Has anyone...

    Re: Scorpion #621 revival

Well, I was lucky...I found another Montecarlo mirror with good glass and a good rubber glass retainer that I was able to swap onto my mirror. No removal was necessary. :D

I found them both. Leaves were covering one of them. The other was clear and easy to spot. I poured water down both and they drained where they were supposed to...under the car and not in the car....

    Fast forward 2-1/2 years...

I got a call on March, 29, 2019 from my body guy. He finally got around to working on the car. It would be done in 2 weeks max. I had that much time to clear out the garage to make room for Sofia....

    The big WAIT

I was finally ready to drive Sofia to my body/paint guy's shop after 6 months. He does great work, but he's SLOW as he always has a project going on. Personal projects (he excels at backdating...

    Final bodywork and paint prep

Having removed the interior, exterior trim pieces, and door glass, I turned my attention to the frunk. The carpets had been removed, exposing a pretty awful looking frunk.

    Stopping the rust

I spent another couple of weeks pulling out the center console, the sill plates, door panels, door handles, door trim, side trim and the entire frunk carpet area. Each of these mini projects provided...

    Re: Scorpion #621 revival

Once I got the top down, I took it off and set it aside. The canvas was shot, so I made a big order from Monte Hospital: blue carpets, everflex roof, bubble top, and miscellaneous bits and bobs....

    Re: Scorpion #621 revival

Thanks Christopher. I saw that video. For reasons soon to be made revealed, I won't be needing to do any repairs on the rear panel. More to come!

    Roof saga

So, after a couple of attempts at twisting the roof release inside the car and not getting the expected result, I assumed that the cables had snapped. I went to work removing the handle, which was a...

Yup, I've been lurking here long enough to know that these are pretty standard issues these cars have. As far as the rearview mirror goes, I was planning using a Porsche 914 mirror pad. The mirrors...

    Scorpion #621 revival

    Re: removing seats

I had to cut the underbody of my car to get at the 3 captive nuts that had broken loose on the driver's side seat. My shop welded new nuts in there when they fixed the Flintstone floors. :)

  25. Has anyone tried taking apart their Pininfarina side badges?

Mine are original but tired. The red paint has faded (although I don't know how this is possible with the plastic coating over the painted foil). I see some little holes on the back of the badges...
