  2. Re: A question for those of you who know about electric motors

Thanks everyone for the very good advice, I'll keep you posted.
Must admit I hadn't considered the switch.

  3. Re: A question for those of you who know about electric motors

Thanks Hubert, but the fan runs when connected direct to the battery but not when in its proper placeπŸ€”
Incidentally it is a single speed motor.

  4. Re: A question for those of you who know about electric motors

    Thanks,
It's a metal housing but the motor is mounted on 3 pillars that are hard rubber, the colours of the wires aren't an issue, I had to add them as the Flaminia motor doesn't have any wires...

We were using nylock nuts in General motors, Vauxhall Bedford, certainly in the 1970's, and possibly earlier.

    Re: Accelerator Pedal Rollers?

My old rollers used to stick when it was hot resulting in the pedal sticking down.
I've had roller bearings fitted for about 15 years now with no problems.
    Great improvement.

Try pulling out the inner cable as it sounds like it might have broken.

    Marnix,
As I understand it the bushing besides supporting the considerable weigh of the carburettors, helps insulate the engine vibrations to stop frothing, I think without the sleeve the stud will...

    Re: Lurching/surging carb (?) problem.

Must admit, I doubt I'd have thought about the choke.
Why not try a set of Dellorto DH35LA's.
I have Dellorto 32DHLB's fitted to my 2c, and they very rarely need tuning, as well as running nicer...

Not that I'm aware of, I thought all, at least series 1 had rubber mats.
