  1. Re: Weird issue putting on hood blanket on S1 Scorpion

Put it on. You'll like it. And they were available as an option on the 76 model so there is nothing inappropriate about it.

I found and installed one on my 76 and it really gave it a nice,...

    Re: Steering Wheel

I’d just put a couple of applications of tung oil on it. Really brings out grain, it dries its hard, and gives a very natural look.

    Re: I'm selling my fulvia

Well that's a big change in venue. I hope you like heat and humidity. :-)

The boat will be handy if you bring it with you.

Wish I was in a position to buy your Fulvia. It's one I've always...

Re: Replacing the Shift Linkage Top Bushing Question?

The replacement bushes are extremely tough. It's actually quite simple to install. Some will tell you to boil them first to soften them but that is completely unnecessary and more work than is...
  5. Re: Original equipment tyres for a MonteCarlo - is it Pirelli Cinturato 185/70VR13 CN

I recall seeing at least two different sources of documentation that didn't agree with each other and neither of them said the P6 was available in 1976.

Pirelli's own website about tires currently...
  6. Re: Original equipment tyres for a MonteCarlo - is it Pirelli Cinturato 185/70VR13 CN

Available earlier than that. Perhaps first available in 14-inch size then?
  7. Re: Original equipment tyres for a MonteCarlo - is it Pirelli Cinturato 185/70VR13 CN

I seem to recall that base standard was 175s but I don't recall ever seeing a Scorpion or early Monte with them.
  8. Re: Original equipment tyres for a MonteCarlo - is it Pirelli Cinturato 185/70VR13 CN

Not really weird. Just a fact. Kinda typical for the times.

Everyone in the local sports car club was wanting some for their cars because every time it rained during one of our Solo 2 events I...
  9. Re: Original equipment tyres for a MonteCarlo - is it Pirelli Cinturato 185/70VR13 CN

I hate to throw a wrench  into this discussion but my brand new 1976 Scorpion came from the factory with 13-inch Pirelli P6s.

They obviously weren't very common back then because when I...

Re: Magnetic Pickup for '81-'82 FI cars

I've no idea on the cable. I had the fortune to have found a proper plug connector for it at the dizzy end so I fabricated my own wire.

    Pics attached.

If you can't find the plug, just get some...

Re: Magnetic Pickup for '81-'82 FI cars

I don't have the specific model number but it was used on the Fiat Strada and also on Saab 900s.

    Rockauto has them.

    Re: Engine dies. Boo.

So, if the motor is spinning but it's not turning the engine, it means that the solenoid isn't throwing the gear out to engage the ring gear on the flywheel. It could mean that the solenoid is bad OR...

If it truly is a Monte it wouldn’t have a tire carrier. No VIN provided so hard to tell.

Re: "resurrecting" a Scorpion for 24 Hours of LeMons

Do you have a crankcase breather hose running into the filter?

If so, does it have the flame arrester in it?

    Just a thought.
