    I had an original low mile early S2 coupe (in Mendoza blue!) with black crackle cam cover....... It was so early it had a few S1 components like S1 driveshafts mated to 5 speed box. All original....

    Re those boots, they are a bit of a pain but do a good job in protecting the ball joint.

    I would not recommend them fitted “loose”.

    The subframe chassis reference is usually a blue factory stamped plate not any stamping on the subframe itself.

    I don't think Sports (Zagatos) were built (screwed together) in South Africa.

    Given there were many fewer RHD chassis Sports made by the Zagato...

    Penrite do a steering box lube, and I have some sae 250 from them like treacle, for pot joints....

    I think if you are replacing both boots and regreasing you can do it all by removing the inner cv joint. However if you want to dismantle both cv joints the outer has to be hit very hard to jump it...

    Be interested to see how it turns out. Different paint technolgies are a problem and you might be wise to bite the bullet and paint the whole flank.

    Glynn I think you will find these are non HF S1 and S2 incl 1600 Hf. I have them on my 1600HF but from alloy S1 doors fitted subsequently. S1 parts book does only list for 1.3 S.

    Firstly All fulvias and esp the 1600 are unhappy in the transition phase of around 2200rpm....

    Secondly what do the other plugs look like?

    If I were to guess it seems N01 is lightly burning...

    Is your engine with an inverted oil filter?? If so the oil is draining out possibly... Not good for starting up if that is the case...
