It belongs to an old friend, who has largely been into Alfas and Porsches. He got into this, hoping to rebuild it but found it more than he wanted to do. As you can tell from the ad, he's quite...

    Re: Electronic Ignition?

One reason to go to elec ignition is that the quality of points available to date- the springs are not quite as good as original. Also elec ignition helps with cold starts and high end.

Re: clutch problems - advice needed - S1 coupe

Looks very similar to flywheels seen at Sergio Allais's shop outside of Torino. They make flywheels, pistons, cams and cranks. Haven't ever done business with Mara tho.

Re: Taddraughn's Fulvia Coupe: Progress Thread

likely that equally spaced blades can more readily generate a wave at a resonating frequency, whereas unequal spaced blades can't. Its why troops break step walking across a bridge - can't reach...

While seemingly odd to us today, it makes sense if seen in context. The lights are normally (for us) in the second position, and then the whole system operates normally (per our standards).

    The...
  11. Re: Midwest / Great Lakes gathering of Lancia owners?

There are probably about 5-10 or so in Chicago area, plus another few in Wisconsin. Have to think a bit, but they are all known, largely through either Fuelfed (local coffee and classics folks) or...

At the risk of entering into murky waters, here is a detail of the teeth in the conrod cap faces. This is from an 818.302 rod 2243315. There were some changes to these "dentatura" (lovely name) in...

Re: Where can I find correct hose clamps?

Were they cotter pin type clamps? Used on MB at the time, just make sure you get the right width. Plating might be different too.Cotter Pin Type Hose

FCA mentions on their site that they restored the car in 5 months and ran it in the Mille Miglia this year. Hard to believe, but maybe if you have resources, you can rebuild a motor and a body that...

    Re: Appia Berlina "carb upgrade"?

There is the "Lancia Ardea e Appia" book also by Nada, from 1991; ISBN 89-7911-058-6. Probably not too easy to find. There are about 6 pages of technical descriptions of the different Appia...

    Re: Piston ring problem?

Might also try to check the rings with a leak down test. You can have good compression, and ring seal, at the top of the bore, but have taper down lower. Also, ring fit is more fussy than most like...
