    New Scorp Dash Backer!

Just got a new replacement backer from Rod in the mail today. LHD of course. Just an
FYI for the Forum that TMH has them (again). Sweet Jesus did my Scorp ever need one!

    Re: Leaky brake connections

See that’s what happened when I put on new hoses: it felt as tho the bolt was bottoming
out. So I guessed what I call the hose “shoe” the bolt goes thru was thinner. All I know
    for sure is two...

    Re: Leaky brake connections

You're NOT supposed to do this but. There's been times in my past that the ONLY way
I could stop the weepage on top of the calipers was to use TWO copper crush washers.
    And tighten the bajo thru...

Re: 3 decade long slumber yikes!

All four hubs, bearing "carriers" require a "special tool" to remove the bearing retainer.
It's a thin cadmium plated, notched steel ring. Removal of that + the R & R of the
    bearing proper are best...

    Re: Seats leather or vinyl?

TMK U.S. Sedans never had leather. Just vinyl. Maybe a few mutants w/cloth. Dunno.

Re: 3 decade long slumber yikes!

I put a set of KONIs on my ‘78 Sedan eons ago. Lotsa nail biting as to what setting
selection (soft/medium/hard) before strut re-install. Cuz once they’re in they’re in!
    I went w/the medium...

Re: 3 decade long slumber yikes!

Having KONIs is a blessing. If they don’t “recover” there’s a stateside KONI place
to send them. Free re-build TMK. If you go that route: coil overs out, that’d be
    the time for new suspension...

    Re: Seats leather or vinyl?

Beta leather was of a fairly high grade. Places like your rear seat tops which may be
perished/totally dessicated from the Sun are toast. Re-stitching the seats is common
    after all these years....

    Re: Heater problem

Good advise from Todd. Those heater valves are cheap, like $25. Once you find one.
    Ahem. Might be a quickie 1st step. I hope you don't have a bad htr. core . . .
  14. Re: Original equipment tyres for a MonteCarlo - is it Pirelli Cinturato 185/70VR13 CN

I put a set of P6s on my '78 Sedan as soon as they came out. That woulda been '80/'81?
  15. Re: Original equipment tyres for a MonteCarlo - is it Pirelli Cinturato 185/70VR13 CN

D.J. ... now that is weird ... P6s back then? Here's a question for the Forum: what is the max
    tire size (s), front & rear for 14" x 6" wheels? Aspect ratio & all that. I can't find squat in 13"...
  16. Re: Who has installed a Monte Hospital carpet set?

My carpet came from Fryer's. Fitment was tedious. As you have a pristine interior I'd apply
Dynamat Xtreme on the floors & particularly the "firewall" first. Padding of choice i.e.
    composition...

Re: More Questions, What are these for?

Somewhere in the gallery there's picts of an S2. Original Danish owner, bought
new back when @ an auto event. One pic clearly shows the factory rear fog light.

    Re: Scorpion #621 revival

You found them (drain hoses): good. If you don't replace them NOW, while accessible: not
good. Don't trust that original, ancient, thin rubber to last! Do the htr. hose NOW!

    Re: Scorpion #621 revival

I hope you replaced each cowl drain tube (s). Lancia used condom thin rubber cowl
drains rather than hoses. INSIDE the footwells! Assinine design. They fail, ya got
    rusted out floors. V. common....

    Re: Steering rack source

That may have been me (yrs. ago) saying you need a near operating room clean work space
while rebuilding these racks. Few of us have that luxury. Better left to your mechanic. The

    Re: Rear brake porportioning valve

That's kind of a loaded question. Pun intended. It's there due to the significant front weight bias
of Betas. Why the rear pads last forever. If you never have rear seat passengers nor a trunk
    full...

For Sale: Re: Parting out 1977 Scorpion

    FWIW Beta/Beta stalks go '75 - '79 then '81 - '82. IIRC Scorp - X 1/9 stalks are diff,
    i.e. blinkers.
  23. Re: HPE Series 3 Tailgate Glass Window Rubber Seal
