    Final bodywork and paint prep

Having removed the interior, exterior trim pieces, and door glass, I turned my attention to the frunk. The carpets had been removed, exposing a pretty awful looking frunk.

    Stopping the rust

I spent another couple of weeks pulling out the center console, the sill plates, door panels, door handles, door trim, side trim and the entire frunk carpet area. Each of these mini projects provided...

    Re: Scorpion #621 revival

Once I got the top down, I took it off and set it aside. The canvas was shot, so I made a big order from Monte Hospital: blue carpets, everflex roof, bubble top, and miscellaneous bits and bobs....

    Re: Scorpion #621 revival

Thanks Christopher. I saw that video. For reasons soon to be made revealed, I won't be needing to do any repairs on the rear panel. More to come!

    Roof saga

So, after a couple of attempts at twisting the roof release inside the car and not getting the expected result, I assumed that the cables had snapped. I went to work removing the handle, which was a...

    Re: Scorpion #621 revival

Yup, I've been lurking here long enough to know that these are pretty standard issues these cars have. As far as the rearview mirror goes, I was planning using a Porsche 914 mirror pad. The mirrors...

    Re: Scorpion #621 revival

I knew I saw that car on BAT, but I couldn't find the post. Yeah, that's right before I bought her.

I appreciate the offer of the bumpers. I'd have taken you up on those a month or so after I...

    Re: Scorpion #621 revival

Upon receiving the Scorpion, I went to work identifying issues that would need to be taken care of. Here are some of the things I found:

    Scorpion #621 revival

I've been lurking on and off in this forum for about 3 years now, and I figure it's time that I came out and let you know what I've been working on. In 2016, I purchased Scorpion #621 from a shop in...
  13. Wanted: S1 Lancia Scorpion/Montecarlo spider top roof latch (right side)

I'm missing the passenger side (US) roof latch that holds the roof down from my S1 Scorpion. I'm also missing the catches that are mounted on the roof itself. Could have sworn I had those a year ago,...

    For Sale: Re: Scorpion parts

I'm a little late to the game, but I was wondering if you had the latches that hold the top down in the rear? I'm missing the passenger side latch. This is for a '76. '77 is completely different. Ask...

    Re: removing seats

I had to cut the underbody of my car to get at the 3 captive nuts that had broken loose on the driver's side seat. My shop welded new nuts in there when they fixed the Flintstone floors. :)

  17. Has anyone tried taking apart their Pininfarina side badges?

Mine are original but tired. The red paint has faded (although I don't know how this is possible with the plastic coating over the painted foil). I see some little holes on the back of the badges...
