Re: Lancia Beta Spyder 1981 Paint Codes

I uploaded a 1981 PPG color code sheet to the downloads section of this forum. Back then, black is pretty much universal. Ditzler 9000.
But the Lancia code is 601/122

Which would seem to indicate that the spare switch was worse off than the original (all other things being equal) but it does not necessarily exonerate the original switch.

Craig's List: Re: Restored Beta Coupe, nicely done

    I resemble that remark ;-)

Lovely Coupe. Anyone know who's it is?
  7. For Sale: Re: (almost) NEW Lancia Beta transaxle, or parts, for sale

Lancia did stamp the ratio on the outside of the 'box in 1981. Can't say for sure if they did it before that or not. It's by the LH output on the back side by the shifter.

Re: Any HPE's in the Midwest??

I found out where John's old car is (NY/NJ) and also found one in Hamilton, Ontario that looks promising. Thanks for the reply, Dave!

Re: Lancia Clubs in the USA

Some excellent points on this resurrected thread. I used to be involved in FLU when it was Fiat Lancia Unlimited, was a member of the ALC and was a member of the LMC. This is all during the '90s in...

Oh boy, wait until you see that exhaust manifold set-up! Open-end wrench access only for the top part of the manifold to lambda sensor part of the manifold. You really have to try to tighten the heck...

    Great news!
Maybe your suspicions on the injectors leaking is true. I sent mine to this witchhunter guy and he did a nice job. I have to tell you, I sent him my spare set that had sat for well over...

    Re: Timing Question

The FI cars are so much nicer than the carbed '79s in my opinion. A little work now will pay big rewards later.

    Re: Timing Question

If it won't run on starter fluid and has 180psi across the board, it can only be spark/timing related, no? Sounds like a fun adventure to put the puzzle back together again. I had an Alfa Milano that...

    Re: Timing Question

People really get hung-up on this. Same thing with the SOHC motors. Simply put, #1 and #4 are at TDC at the EXACT same time. If you put a timing light on your car and look at the marks, it will not...

Re: 1981 Beta Under hood Ignition Help

I read a little more and seems some guys saying up to 2 ohms is okay and some say as low as 0.4 is okay. So maybe my range is a little tight. In any event, 2.4 seems like it is outside of most...

Re: 1981 Beta Under hood Ignition Help

I've always read that for a coil, there should be 1.4-1.8 ohms between terminals and 8,000-12,000 ohms between either terminal and the tower.
