Hi there again, sorry I have not been posting for a while. Could anyone advise me how to remove the complete dash panel with trhe vents from my scorpion? I need to get access to the heater assembly to remove it from the car as well. My Alfa V6 engine is in there already and most of the connections are done. I may need help later to connect the engine wiring to the car. Thank you again Roger

Hi All,
It's been a while since I've been active here but with moving houses it kind of makes it hard to be active. However, I had some time to myself so I thought I would get to the cv joints that need changing. (thinking this is where the big thump was coming from) Well I ran into a surprise...... Taking the passenger side drive shaft apart I found the the convex washer on the inner cv joint missing. BINGO!!
It made sense. With the bit of slop in the cv joints and the drive shaft moving back and fourth on take off.... there is the thump. For some background info, I had posted a while back that I was getting a thump when I let the clutch out or when I shifted under power. The mounts are fine, the tranny rebuilt and all I could find was a bit of slop in the drive shafts. With the washer missing it would also explain the feeling of the car winding up and getting the occasional thump turning corners. Now I have to track down a convex washer to put things back together and make the cv joint fit tight on the shaft.

Any one have one of these washers kicking around?

Warren

I know nothing about car paint or getting a car painted. What should I be looking for in order to prevent my car from rusting in the future?
Needs a lot of work. (paint for sure) The only bonus is it has a solid body, with virtually no rust.
Did I mention that it has been in storage for 20+ years? Allan

Last night I was going through my car, pulling sensors that are no longer connected and plugging them with bolts. I saw this nice big one sitting on the intake manifold that had two screws plugging it. It occurred to me that it wasn't really a sensor, but I did think it was some type of vacuum switch. So...... I put my deep well 24mm socket on it and began to unscrew it. All of a sudden coolant came spraying out of the manifold!

Clearly this is not a sensor nor is it a vacuum line on the manifold. What is this bugger and where did the original lines go? Maybe I will connect it again...

Thanks as always,
