Could someone post the height and width of the Gamma coupe headlamp lens face assembly for me?
Also the entire width of the two headlights and grille?
I am playing 'car designer' with a friend here and trying to figure out the dimensions of the front end; and what similarities to the Montecarlo.
The Gamma coupe and Montecarlo were both designed by Pininfarina and both have the 'family' resemblance. Its ashame that the Gamma was never sold in the USA, the 2500ie sounds like a great engine when in good operating order.
I am stuck in the USA, and I think there are only 2 in the USA!

Thanks

Has anyone experimented with fitting Solex DDHF42 carbs to 1200 or 1300 Fulvia engines?
All Alfa Romeo 1300 Giullia engines in the 60's were (weber DCOE) 40mm so you might expect that the 42 combined with a smaller choke (for example 33mm instead of the stock 1600HF 36mm) could work. A smaller choke could be made up in a lathe without to much trouble.
I can imagine that highly modified 1300 engines might need more air than the Solex or Dell Ortho 35' s are able to provide.

Cheers,

I have the feeling my engine is somewhat loose on its mounts when I quickly go from throtte to no throttle and back on again. Especcially in low gear. Is this normal and due to the fairly soft engine rubbers or is it not the engine but the subframe that (strongly) responds to load changes? (all rubbers were renewed during the restauration 12 years ago). Body is perfect as is the subframe.
Thanks,

So I am wondering if the headlights from a Lancia Gamma have ever been tried out on a Lancia Scorpion as a conversion, or a Montecarlo as an 'improvement'?
The advantage of the Gamma lights is that they have actually two separate reflectors, and possibly better beam performance.

If you compare the track and width dimensions of both models, they are within an inch of each other.

So having said that, lets post some photos and debate.
Here are the Gamma coupe lights, notice the chamfer on the upper corner, very similar to the Montecarlo headlights:

The Gamma Berlina headlamp is somewhat more pedestrian and not 'chamfered':

Here's a Monte light for comparison:

What do people think? (and please lets not discuss the four round headlamp conversions, I know about those and there are enough threads about them)

Thanks
