As some of you may know, I had a very substantial Lancia parts business back in the 1980's and 1990's. I closed it in early 2006 but to this day I was still receiving emails from former customers and other folks referred to me if I still had parts available.
I hooked up with some of my "old" suppliers and decided to start offering a limited amount of items which I will slowly add to over time. I am starting with Zagato Soft-Tops, Top Boots and carpeting. Please visit:

Hi. I am in the process of taking the tank from my 1982 Zagato to a place that will clean it and coat the inside. I have seen som rumblings about a screen/sock that needs to be removed from the tank, but I have not been able to locate the posting the describes how to do it - can someone point me toward the discussion or tell me where it is located?

Also, I am planning to replace all of the fuel lines going into the tank. I bought 12 feet of fuel line and when I got it home I realized it is standard / not Fuel Injected line. Can I use this line for the emission hoses into the tank? if so, can someone look at the picture I attached and tell me which letters I can use the regular fuel line on?

As compared to Webers, which I am pretty handy at, the 35 PHH's don't have much definitive procedues on one or two pages that I have located to set these up. Can anyone point the way? i haven't touched them since the car arrived and the moment has arrived.

I've got a good Redline synch tool and I can count turns. I've got them pretty much synched but a little too low idle. (700)

What settings do you start with on your speed screw and mix screws?

My Weber experience is to set the idle screw at an arbitrary point like 1/2 turn in then 1 turn out on mix screws so the engine idles on it's own. Then adjust mixes one at a time for smoothness and finally resetting the speed and rematching with the synch gauge bringing the higher reading down to the low one.

Is this about how it is done with these? or am I assuming too much?

BTW a good ell shaped radiator hose makes a good extention for the synch gauge
and saves removing the filter can from the inlets of the carbs.

Does anyone have any images or diagrams of the water circuit for a Flavia 1800, ideally an 1800 twin carb model. My Sport had a bit of a Heath Robinson setup which may or may not have lead to the failure of the engine in a previous owners hands. My rebuilt built 'pure' 1800 originally had a single carb so the heads have no take offs for heater or temp sensor.

My car had a hybrid engine with 2000cc heads on an 1800 block, there was a take off on the RH head for the heater feed (I believe it is feed, it heads off to the control valve) and a sensor boss on the LH head. There was no thermostat housing instead there was a T piece made from copper plumbing fittings! linking the head outlets through the manifolds back to the radiator. The other oddity is that the water pump has an outlet on the RHS (viewed from the drivers seat) which has been blanked off, I think that this can create an air pocket reducing pump efficiency.

So overall the system I had before on the hybrid;

Outlet from radiator into pump.
Blanked off port on pump
Exit from pump down to cross over pipe into RH & LH heads
Exit heads through manifolds into T
RH head feeds heater direct from casting port
Heater returns to base of cooler
Bypass hose from cross over pipe into base of cooler.
Sensor in LH head.

I am making up a new T with a take off for the heater and a boss for the sensor so I ca fire up in cofidence but I would dearly like to know what the blanked off port is for. I am thinkig of fitting a bleed point to it so I can vent any air.

Does anyone have the paint code for my car, S2 Sport Dark Blue. I have no idea what it is called. I have to get the bonnet resprayed as the paint is lifting in a few areas (new 18 months ago, quality work eh) and no a big bird sh.... on it, cooked in the sun and has eaten into the paint. Much was made (by vendor and Magazine write-up) of the paint code being in the glovebox and used for the respray but it didn't come with the car.
My voltage regulator and relays are all mounted (to me) upside down, wiring on top. Is this normal? I haven't been able to find a picture of another car to compare.
I removed the regulator and opened it up and found a wonderful soup off water oil and rust. Carefully cleaned it up and no more red light.
