  1. Restauring my Lancia Fulvia 1200

I took the Fulvia to the mountain roads. Superb handling, spongy breaks, sufficient power, poor idle, some water consumption.
I took the car to the best guy in town (a former FIA tech. inspector) and we started checking things.

Cylinder #3 was low on compression, one of the ignition adjustment springs was broken, purging the break lines didn't help. I knew I had some work to do.
Although the car passed emission tests with flying colors, I decided that id Fulvia was going ...

This is the Lancia Fulvia 1200 Coupe Series 1 I bought on November 2016. This car has been made by Lancia prior to the FIAT take-over. It has the good old Lancia quality. The first registration was processed on may 6, 1966.

The original owner gave her the HF looks and I decided to keep them: all original parts are in my garage.

  3. Building a 1/20 scale D-50 #12

    Hello everyone,
Here are some recent pics of the D-50 with all of its body panels sort of dry fitted in place.
I'm getting closer to putting color coats of paint on it but its not quite ready yet. I have to pick a nice dry warm day to paint it but I haven't seen many of them lately. Normally I just use Tamiya TS-8 "Italian red" straight out of the rattle can , but Ascari's D-50 was more maroon in color. Tamiya don't have that color so I have to decant red and maroon to a ...

  4. Building a 1/20 scale D-50 #11

The D-50 is looking more and more like some crazy V-8 rat rod! Wait till you see pics of it with the exhaust attached.
I've been busy working on the wheels as well as putting the cooling fins and brake lines on the brake drums. The fuel ? tank is on but I need to connect it to the fuel shut off valve which is that yellow knob in the cockpit.
I mentioned in the last post that a pin head is too big to replicate the many rivets on the side tanks, but the diameter of the pin itself looks ...

  5. Building a 1/20 scale Lancia D-50 #10

Its been a while since I posted any pics of the D-50. I'm slowly making some progress on the body work. The resin cockpit sides have been epoxied to the white metal top pieces that hold the instrument gauges and the cold air duct. They need to be filled and sanded a bit more. I bought some pins to simulate the rivets but they are still too big. If I cut the heads off them, then it looks to scale but then you need to figure out how to ca glue them in.
In the meantime, I've been working on ...
