While doing some refurb on my top, I noticed that one of the latches was broken- probably had been for some time. This is the plastic piece that holds the metal catch that the top latches to- one on each side, this is the driver's side. I think I can repair that piece but need to take the hard plastic trim off to get to the back side of it. The nut that the plastic is bolted to has slipped down. It appears that the key to this is to remove the louvered plastic piece and the piece above it that mates up with the roof panel. The louvered piece is just behind the window. Make my day and let me know that this disassembly is easy. I'm ready for an easy job....(see other posts)

There are one ot two very small (M4 I believe) bolds that can be reached from the enginebay. Then you should be able to tilt the louvered part bottom first out.

Behind it you can find the bolts for the top plastic part.
