Can someone describe (or better, has a picture) how the air inlet of a S2 Montecarlo looks? I mean the thing that should be placed behind the airfilter house inlet, mine is missing. I suspect it has a summer/winter setting (air from the exhaust vs. fresh air) operating via the cut-out in the shelf between engine room and exhaust?

Thanks for any help!

You are correct. The S2 air intake is a metal box which attaches to the floof in front of the rear grill. It has a hole in the bottom as well as facing the grill with a manually operated flap to direct inlet air from either the exhaust cavity or the grill slots. I take it you still have the original S2 air filter setup? This connects into the box via a pipe from the filter bin. E-Bay trader Elimintrude is currently wrecking an S2 and he may have one he could sell.

Thanks for the info Geoff! I'll contact that guy, but it also seems easy to fabrikate the thing.

Indeed, I have the original setup. It normaly did not gave any problems. But early this week I had tu use the car in cold weather, rusulting in problems with running on idle when cold. Probably caused by the cold air...
