Hi
I'm putting twin DCOEs in my monte and I'm thinking that I'll have to do something to the upright shaft that controls the gear shift - it runs right through about where the No4 cylinder carb would be.
Is there a manifold that shifts the carbs towards the cambelt end so that I don't have to muck around with the gear linkages? Who makes it and where do I get it?
If not, does anyone know how I do the modification?
I'm also planning on putting the alternator on the oil takeoff block from a Beta (down the bottom). I think that will put it out of the way. Can anyone confrim this?
Thanks
Michael

Croft sells one. I think you can buy same from Chad at the Monte Hospital.

Thanks Will, but Chad's manifold requires the gear arm being moved. I was after a manifold that didn't require this modification, or if someone could tell me how the do the modification.

Want to see how to modify the gear linkage? I did a similar mod to mine, see in my photo albums- it's under the Fuel Injection album, titled Scorpion FI Conversion Notes, at the bottom of the image. The proceduce is basically to tack-weld off the linkage to a parallel bar that acts like a jig and holds things in position, then to cut a chunk out of the rod and offset it on two plates cut from bar stock. It gets welded through the middle of the upper arm, then that arm gets cut off at the tail end to become shorter.Weld everything back up.I added some nice radius fillets to mine before grinding everything smooth, to make it at least as strong as the original.

I have 45 DCOEs in my Scorpion on a Guy Croft intake manifold.

You'll have to use the shortest velocity stacks/ram pipes with foam filters. The filter will touch but not interfere with the transmission linkage.
Email me at DCRallyDave@yahoo.com if you have questions. I don't check this forum often.

And twin sidedrafts is what I HAD on my Monte - grotty photo somewhere in the photo section .. . that was a GC manifold.
Alternative to air filter socks are long (6") or so ram pipes leading to an airbox. This is what I had on the turbo set-up and there was more than enough room.
The air box/plenum chamber did fowl the alternator which had to be swung down into where the air conditioning pump would have been if I had one !! I kept the standard Monte alt. mount/oil filter. I think the dip stick also had to be bent a tincie bit to clear as well.
Only problem is it's a real bitch to get at the carbs for any playing around with them !
