Hi everybody! Before I begin I would like to point out that my mechanical knowledge of cars is virtually zero so please bear with me.
I have a 1989 16v Intergrale and I am having major problems with the tick-over and engine starting when hot.
At present I have had to disconnect the cable from the potentiometer because when it is connected the engine 'ticks-over' at about 3000 r.p.m. :!:
I have taken it to a couple of places to be looked at (Lancia specialists) and they don't know what it is. I have been told that normally you just blip the throttle and it should return to normal but this one doesn't.
It has been rectified once by a mechanic fiddling with the voltage output of something and it was okay for about 3 weeks but then it returned!!!!
Also, When the car was running for some time and then switched off it wouldn't start....not even 'turn-over'...just a 'click' in the engine bay. When it was left for about an hour (and cooled down) it started first time!?!?! Any ideas on that one :?: Could it be related to the problem above :?:
Also...last one...when I am driving (which hasn't been for a while since the above problem started) the battery light flickers on and off....especially on bumpy roads....I am assuming that this is due to a dodgy connection somewhere....any ideas??
Thanks in advance for any assistance anyone may be able to offer, or even a name of a good Lancia mechanic in the South-east of England that may be able to help me.
I am starting to lose faith in her and think she may be posessed!!!   :D
