View Full Version : Plastic panel behind throttle

Just out of interest, I'm wondering why there's a rectangular plastic panel behind the throttle pedal of my RHD Beta. I wonder because there's no such equivalent panel on the passenger side, and also because the panel is not a perfect fit, hence allowing water down into the footwell and the chance to soak underneath the carpet. This latter point might not be a common problem, but my car's had a windscreen replacement and I think it might be related to that, it mightn't be sealing properly. In any case, is there any reason for the panel to be there? There's a water channel behind it, which seems to be the only reason, but it prompts an obvious question - is there also a channel on the other side? Anyone who has rebuilt a Beta dashboard may find this an easier question to answer...

Actually, while I'm at it, does anyone have any ideas on how to remove the rubber facing on the sill, which runs underneath the door bin and the seatbelt housing? I've had a look and there aren't any visible screws, so is there a way to get it off without the utilisation of brute force and the possibility of wrecking it in the process?

Thanks in advance

Hi!

Maybe I can answer your 2. question, if I didn't missunderstood something because of my not so good english. In the middle of that plastic there is a 5-7mm wide rubber line, which you can take out and there are the screws.
