I was getting my beta ready for a smog test tomorrow, checking fluids etc. and when I opened the cap on the overflow tank it was full of a white froth 8O . When I looked inside the tank I could see oil on the antifreeze  . Seems I am going to get into my car more than I wanted right now. I don't have any manuals on this car. Anything special I should know about? Is there somewhere online that I can find torque settings? It's a 1981 Beta Coupe.

Thanks for your help, John

Sounds like you may be renewing your headgasket in the near future, although it may still pass emissions. While oil in the coolant is a headache, it is not as harmful as coolant in the oil is to internals.

Bolt torque specs are:
Head to block 61 ft. lbs.
Manifolds 18 ft. lbs.
Camboxes to head 16 ft. lbs.

I'd be shopping for a Haynes manual about now if I were you. they don't cover injected model like ours, but the mechanicals are the same.

Good luck!

...I'd be shopping for a Haynes manual about now if I were you. they don't cover injected model like ours, but the mechanicals are the same.FWIW, I gather the Haynes reproductions sold by Bayless are either of a rare, late edition which incorporates the updated FI info, or at least include the FI supplements with a copy of the more common, earlier edition.
