8v integrale engine replacement.

Can anyone tell me if the 8v integrale and the 8v thema engines are interchangable? What about a 16v thema engine(turbo/non turbo)?

As a last resort, are the engine blocks similar to the old volumex engines, I have one that could go in?

Hello Skufy,
The inlet and exhaust manifolds on the Thema take up more space so will not fit into a Delta. The block and head are the same. The Delta uses Marelli Weber management whereas the Thema uses Bosch so you would need to swap over the ecu and wiring loom. The Delta sump is completely different.

The 2 litre turbo engines all have balancer shafts whereas all Beta engines do not.

The later heads can be fitted to a Beta block. The Turbo blocks have oil spray jets to cool the pistons from underneath.

None of this is plug and play you would need high skill level and good facilities.

Thanks for that. I had a quick look at the car anyway and it was like all the others I have seen - rust at bottom of screen, rear roof and boot behind wheel arches.

I'll keep looking and keep my spare engines where they are.
