Hey all.

I have two side marker lights that don't light up. I've been testing the wiring to see if there's a short (and YES, I did check to see if the bulbs are ok), and I can't get a reading on my voltmeter on either the good or bad lights. What gives? I tried both at the plug and the connectors where the plugs are wired into the looms - no reading on either location.

Anyone have an idea on this? Anyone? Bueller?

BTW - yeah, the Ferarri in FERRIS BUELLER is great eye candy, but I'd rather have Fenice...

Which ones? They may be on the same fuse.

The basics: check fuses, spin them, remove and bend holder prongs to make tighter sockets.

The grounds: trace the ground wire for each bulb and make sure it's connector is clean and tight at the ground cluster.

Lastly, the sockets themselves go slack and can make it difficult to light up a good bulb. Try fiddling with the little wire contacts on the bulbs and also (with the switch off) bending the socket tabs to make tighter connections. Also unplug and re-plug the various connectors along the way, sometimes they get slightly corroded and this simple act cleans them and makes them work again.

Hope this helps.

BTW - yeah, the Ferarri in FERRIS BUELLER is great eye candy, but I'd rather have Fenice...I feel exactly the same way about my own Zag vs. other cars I see; I don't see used car lots the same way anymore, now just glancing over the selection with indifference before concluding that "I like mine better." Sure, with my car I've seen ups and downs, dramas and challenges, etc., and some of the other cars are pretty, some are rare or exotic, some are lower-maintenance, some are faster, etc. but... "I like mine better." 8)

Now, if only I could find a woman about whom I'd feel as satisfied! :) Oh sure, I'd still look at and admire others, natch, but... "I like mine better." (Great, I seem to have found myself in an ideal monogamous relationship... but it's with my car! )
