As the result of an original factory paint screwup, the top of my '81 coupe needs repainting, only the top. There is the usual rust (slight, in this case) along the edge of the front cowling at the windshield. So the glass should come out and the metal get repaired and the top repainted. I can do that. However, what's the mortality rate of the glass and stainless trim in that process? I assume glass can be had (?). How about the seal? Back window, same potential issues since it should come out to do the job right. Has anyone taken this on sucessfully? I've done a couple Scorpions, but this is a completely different seal setup.

Jonny, do you know Val? He's in our neck of the woods and has done this many times. As far as I know, it actually isn't any different than a Scorpion. The Beta is glued in just like a Scorpion. There isn't any seal or gasket. The glass is glued in and then the stainless trim is pressed along side it into the glue. It's a real bear getting them out in one peice, but Val has a method as I've seen him do it. Send me an email... What area are you in?
