There is an interesting buying guide on the Fulvia in the latest edition of Classic Cars magazine
http://www.classiccarsmagazine.co.uk/nav?page=classiccars

Makes for good reading but thank goodness it wasn't available when I bought my Fulvia. Some of the example costs for 'worst case' repairs and rebuilding are frightening and might put many a potential buyer off!

Costs on a restoration can very quickly mount up. If someone is after what is effectively a brand new handbuilt car, then the costs can be very high. There are people out there who love their Fulvias sufficiently to have spend a large sum of money on their cars.

Fair comment.
It was figures like £40,000- £50,000 for a ground up restoration; £6,000 for a 1.6 cylinder head/engine rebuild; £1,000 per sub frame side "just for parts" etc. Frightening if you're approaching from a position of no/little knowledge as a first time buyer.

I knew nothing about Fulvias until I happened to see one parked near to where I live, thought what a great car and bought one from a LMC member. I've probably spent more on the car over the years than I'd care to admit because, as you say, I love the car!

I thought the point about a Fiat Uno 1.4 clutch fitting the Fulvia was interesting...
