Can anyone give me an idea of the value of a complete volulmex engine, box and all ancilaries?
I'd guess at 200 pounds for a 80k plus and 600 for a low mileage.

you might be a bit optimistic at that, at least £750.

the supercharger if in good order is worth £500 on its own without any other parts, the remainder is worth what you can get for it maybe around £250 to £300 if it's not in a car and therefore unable to be heard running generally it's cheaper to find a complete but rough hpe vx and break it than buy parts

Thanks for the surprise, 500 just for the supercharger...... I had the chance to buy a HPE vx for 400 pound, it's still resting on bricks in someones garden - complete with spoilers. Why didn't I get it, usual rust problem and I've already too many cars.

the supercharger is a classic rootes type design and therefore appeals to the vintage car enthusiasts as it looks the part on 1930s cars that's why it commands high prices

a second hand blower just sold on ebay in bermany for quite a bit less about £220 if I remember right, suspect it would have gone higher in the UK as they are much rarer here
