Hi Ed, thanks for the welcome, didnt know you guys struggle running Grales, I take it you have
problems with you omissions laws over there or do you have import problems. ? Daz.

Daz,

Integrales were never legally imported into the US. Cars that were never legally imported can be brought in, but only if they're at least 25 years old (which of course no Evos are yet). And even then you're not necessarily out of the woods, depending on where you live.

Because of our Federal system of organization, there are national (Federal) importation laws and emissions laws. And no individual state may have its own importation laws, but individual states are permitted to have their own emissions laws, if they're more restrictive than Federal law. For example, California used to waive emissions checks on any car older than 30 years, but it now requires emissions checks on any car later than model year 1975. And it's very difficult to certify any post-1975 car that was never officially imported (and therefore has no US-emissions version), as it's not in the state's computerized database.

So there are some 'Grales here, but they've been brought in "informally" and are flying under the radar through various creative solutions...

Well, as I said, there are a few over here--probably less like seeing a flying pig than seeing an eagle that, unbeknownst to most observers, is simply licensed as a pig...
