Hi,
I'm looking for a working black faced Jaeger clock that would have been fitted to a series 2 coupe.
Unfortunately mine doesnt seem to work at all!
I can't imagine they are particularly complex but cannot seem to be able to get into it to have a look inside,
If you have a spare one you wouldnt mind parting with or any ideas on how I could fix it would be great.
Thanks
Nick

These electronic clocks can be a bit temparemental, have you tried to start it by disconnecting the battery earth lead and tapping the terminal a few times before reconnecting. This is the only way I can get my S2 clock to run.

Mine works but the down side is it drains the battery if I don't drive it in a week -10 days and forget to disconnect the battery terminal switch. It's happened with a new battery. Same thing happened in my 308.. the clock and the tiny flashing security light would kill it. There is no other drain on the battery I have confirmed. By killing the battery with the shut off switch, I have now successfully made telling time on it meaningless. Besides, there should be no sense of time as you are tossing it about.

Blimey, Rick - how much current does it draw to drain the battery? I have what I call a 'self-repairing' car (also Mk2) - when I bought it, several things didn't work (admittedly some of them because I didn't know what I was doing). With a 50 mile trip several times a week, the clock has come back to life, and the rev counter has also started working, initially pinging all over the place, but now smooth and all good! I presume that with use, things free off, lubricants that have become a bit sticky warm up, etc.
Having said that, my clock still stops occasionally - to get it going, I adjust the time forward quickly - worth a go?
From what I've seen on the forum, getting them out is quite a challenge, especially without damaging it. I've seen instructions on how to do it either on here, or on Viva Lancia?
Good luck with that clock!

It's the only thing working with the key off. 10 days at 24 hours a day does it in. FWIW it is a Veglia Borletti. I admit I haven't done any investigation of a draw on the battery coming from something else. I'm open to ideas.

Hi,
The original fulvia clock is a transistor driven clock. The circuit is simple and if you can replace the transistor and capacitor, and put lubrication on mechanical stuff, it would be fixed. You can carefuly remove the metal ring which fixes the plastic lens of the surface using minus screwdriver like this. 4825
But because of transistor clock, it is not so acculate, therefore I installed quartz clock.....

This might be a little off track but since we are on the subject of clocks, I thought maybe you guys have the S2/3 Coupe LHD dash top off and can show me a photo of the backside to show me where the attchments are. I can see the ends but don't know about the middle. How many and how to get at would be very nice to know. there was a poster a few years ago named 'Jackois" who posted some gallery photos of the process but I can't locate them. They miust be in cyber-heaven.

Rick, it is actually pretty easy to remove the dash top. There are nuts at the outer ends and two more on either side of the speaker
grill.
