I wonder if anyone can help re the following:

I stupidly let the windscreen washer bottle train down to completely empty. After filling it up the motor works OK but no water comes out! I guess it must be blocked somewhere, anyone know a miracle cure?

My indicator stalk won't stay in the turning right position. as if something has worn internally. Can this be repaired or does it mean new stalks?

Thanks in advance

Mark.

Hello Mark,
on top of the heater assembly will be the T piece that connects the pipe from the washer pump to the two jets. Remove the feed pipe, then operate the washers until the water comes through, then refit the pipe. the problem is probably that the filter on the pump inlet is partially blocked and so you are not getting the full pressure. the pump pulls out of the bottle but is difficult to get back in without removing the bottle.

the indicator switch unit has a standard fault: there are two small nylon rings inside and they split, making the action floppy. it is possible to replace these, the original Beta units had metal rings, don't know why they changed. the rings are just slightly bigger than the ink tube in a BIC Biro, getting the right size and diameter is challenging. i used some brass tube that i got from a model shop. dismantling and re-assembling the switch box is a bit tricky due to the spring but is acheivable.

Good luck, Leo
