Hello all, i'm considering updating the Beta rally car to Delta brakes. They were never imported to the U.S., so I can find no examples to measure.
What was the rotor thickness on the 4 bolt cars? Anyone a spec measurement sheet on the Delta calipers? What wheel size did the 4 bolt Deltas come with?
Thanks

Hello,
Check out http://www.speedways.co.uk/ their catalogue includes all the Deltas with dimensions of the rotors. The 14 inch wheeled Deltas don't stop any better than a Beta. Imho the Delta brakes are worse, and I have owned 6 Deltas and 4 Betas. Current ly I have an 8V integrale that has 15 inch wheels to accomodate the 284mm rotors. These brakes are better than the HPE brakes. I also have a 16V Thema Turbo LS and its brakes are awesome! I would suggest that you go for the bigger diameter (and vented) rotors of the integrale/Thema, but that will neccesitate a move to 15 inch or greater wheels.
All 4 bolt Delta wheels are the same pcd as the Beta (98mm). The 2wd Deltas have 14x5.5 wheels and the integrale has 15x6 or 15x7 wheels. http://www.walkers-garage.co.uk/ will give you info on the integrales.
The HF Turbo (2wd) has vented rotors of 257 mm diameter so slightly bigger than the Beta (251mm)

Leo,
Thank you. That is good information to have. The biggest problem we have with the Beta brakes is that they have that funky twin lead system on the front calipers. As per the regs, we must run twin master cylinders. None of the racing master cylinders have provisions for that layout.
Perhaps there is a way to close off the bleed back line?
Thank you again.
