Hi,
I am planning to fit a pair of Dellorto DHLB carbs to my Series 1 Fulvia with a fuel pressure regulator.
Is it necessary to have a return line to the fuel tank or can I go without.
Does anyone know what pressure to set the regulator to?
Thanks
Steve

DHLBs on a series 1 are fine with a regulator, set to a low pressure less that approx 5 psi from memory, hopefully some like Brian can confirm. I have a set on my S2 coupe and filter/regulator with return blanked off, never sure if that is best set up.

Steve,
No,
I fitted 32 DHLB's to my 1091cc Fulvia 2c Berlina with a filter king presure regulator/filter, no return pipe needed, My 32 DHLB's have been fitted for about 8-9 years now with no problems, keeps in tune and runs much nicer, the Filter King was fitted mainly for the filter as my 2c didn't have a Regulator/Filter fitted as standard at the time, which I suspect is the same in your case, what size engine is your series 1, is it a coupe?
I've never set the pressure on my regulator, just left it set as it came and I've never felt the need to alter it ,even though they've been over the Alps and the Pyrenees.
I've also had an electric pump fitted adjacent to the fuel tank that I only use for primimg the carbs, so much better than turning over the engine until enough fuel is pulled up.
Brian
Just put 32 DHLB into the search box and there's lots of relevant postings, including one from me about 2 years ago that is pretty much word for word what I've written here!

5 psi is a little high; the target pressure should be about 3.5 - 4.0 psi.

3 psi is fine and works well with return pipe (ie the 3psi is maintained). If S1 then set 3psi with filter king regulator.

Thanks for the replies. I'm just waiting for some parts for the carbs which are being rebuilt and then I can install them.
Regards
Steve
