This is absolutely one of the coolest things I've seen this year:

If you use it on your "Stratos", dont forget that it has an apostrophe--"Strato's". No one seems to know why, but it's there...

Funny thing -- when I typed this thread a little while ago, I had originally put the apostrophe in, knowing about that . . . but I just couldn't stand to look at it in normal typeface. It reminds me too much of all of the misplaced apostrophes I am subject to on the internet every day . . . :p

The logotype, for whatever reason has an apostrophe. But the official name of the car is "Stratos" (or "Stratos HF"), with no apostrophe. Its owner's manual has the logotype with apostrophe on the cover, but everywhere inside it's just "Stratos".

I always thought it was an accent grave, as in Stratòs.

Interesting; I never considered that possibility. But I'm afraid that in Italian it actually makes even less sense than an apostrophe. In Italian "stratos" as in, for example, stratosfera (stratosphere) takes no diacritical, and the stress would never be on that syllable.
So I'm afraid there's no real explanation Unless, of course, someone at Bertone was a big Creedence Clearwater Revival fan...

(Hey--doesn't make much sense to me, either, but it's the best I've got...)
