During the restoration of my 77 Scorpion, I had to deal with most of the 12 tail light screws being damaged upon removal. UV sun damage, vibration and over tightening seem to cause the plastic screw heads to crack or break.
I've made a set of 12 alloy bushings with stainless steel screws/washers that replace the red, amber or clear plastic capped OEM pieces.
Other suppliers are selling the OEM style screws for $4.75 to $5.50 US each plus shipping, but unfortunately not all the colors are available.
If any one is interested, let me know. I can make a set of 12 for $50 plus $5 shipping in the US.
They fit perfectly, will not break due to sun damage, vibration, over tightening or get stuck trying to remove them.
