I am looking for a supplier of front brake discs for a 1985 vx. Delphi used to make some, but have now been deleted. Car can't pass mot without new ones. :(

Assuming the later and VX Betas use the same discs as the earlier ones, Brembo still makes stock rotor replacements, and they're not terribly spendy, either. I don't know a UK retailer in particular (Google around, or perhaps you know of a Brembo reseller already), I have found them modestly-priced from some online sources in the US (for my fellow countrymen, Tire Rack (http://TireRack.com/) lists these quite reasonably, prolly best prices and most reputable source I've found here).

You can still get Brembo standard replacement discs and Mintex pads from www.evocars.com they are exactly the same as any other Beta so you shouldn't really have any problems tracking down a set even form your local motor factor - tell 'em to try harder :!:

We've got them too.

...hold on a minute there guys- are you sure they are the same? I would assume Andrew would know, but I thought I recalled reading somewhere that the Vx had larger rotors, I thought they were the rotors used by the 85.5 Pinin Azzura, or am I totally wrong on this one?

Will,
All the lancia literature would have you believe the brakes are hugely different but they are exactly the same as any other Beta. Pure dead honest guv......

Will, perhaps you're right about the '85.5 Pininfarina Azzura/Spidereuropa rotor interchange w/ Betas, but IIRC, those late-year Pinins had different brakes from most all Spiders that came before, so perhaps that "larger rotors" comparative applies to the Pinin side of the interchange vs. the Beta side; i.e., the Pinin got Beta rotors, rather than vice-versa? If this interchange is indeed correct, perhaps we've just identified a way to find nicer rotors (vented, slotted, drilled, etc.) for our Betas! :!:

sorry....the logic of that one eludes me, Subgothius- read your post three times, and don't follow?

I think maybe the Betas already have the bigger brakes (251mm) vs the smaller ones on, say, a Monte (227mm)?
Normally, the FIAT 124s have the same 227mm rotors, so maybe the Pinin Azzuras used the stock Beta size of 251mm?
The Scorpion/montes and FIAT 124 use those cheap Brembo solid discs that are about $18 ea, great for me as it's painless to throw them away!
I can't for the life of me remember what my Zagato rotrs looked like, except I remember they had electric sensors on them for wear. Only because one day I was like, "WTF does THIS WIRE go???"

....I meant on the pads, not the rotors (the wires) sorry for that mix-up.

BTW, that only applies to the '85.5 Pinin spiders (I suspect the Azurra name was dropped by that year? The sailboat badge certainly was...), which distinction is probably related to the larger wheels (15"? IMHO very attractive for Betas as well) also introduced for that model-(half-)year; IIRC, all earlier Pinin spiders used the same 227mm rotors as Scorpions and FIAT 124s.
