Can anyone tell me how to remove the dash on an S2 fulvia, or at least release it to allow the removal of one or two dials. I need to check my oil pressure gauge and I think I need to recalibrate my speedo. I've had a good look underneath but can't see any nuts or screws.
Cheers

Hi Simon,
One of the pro workshops may have a cunning way of doing this - but in my experience it's fairly major surgery. From memory the mounting screws are accessible from the front, so your assumption is correct. I think there are three mounting studs for the dash top - one at each end and mounted horizontally (feel around in outer corner of top pad rear and you'll see what I mean I think), and one in the middle mounted vertically(again, I think). You may be able to remove the nuts to just raise the upper pad and slip the wooden dash out. The Wooden dash is also bolted to the body - 1 or 2 studs I think. All of these have 9 or 10mm nuts from memory. After those have been removed, the instruments should come out on 4 screws. Easy! You might find it helps to remove the steering wheel and drop the steering column - might give you a little more space to play with.
Have not done this for a few years now so stud locations and quantity might be a bit off! Good luck - it'll look messy, but it's not really that complicated.

Thanks for the reply Pete.
When you say "feel around in outer corner of top pad rear"do you mean between the top of the dash and the windscreen?

Not at the windscreen end - try the bit closest to the front but in the corner. Get on your back in the passenger footwell and put your hand up behind the glovebox towards the passenger door and feel around the back of the dash. You may need small hands to locate it. I'm going to check the batery on mine on saturday morning and I'll have a look and report back just in case I'm wrong!

Remove the crash pad. Easy to get at fixing at both ends, but there are also two fixings either side of the speaker grille. These are the tricky ones! Need a socket on a long extension, plus lying upside down in the footwell.
Once that is off, its pretty self explanitory.
