Next outing for the LUKAFOTO racing Fulvia is with the CSCC at Donnington park - just reopened after last year's F1 construction scandal.

All welcome ! Around £12 on gate, under 16s free. And there is some night racing from 5pm!

Have changed the clutch again after Mallory - found the thrust bearinghad disintegrated and found shrapnel behind the flywheel!

Looking at the bearing diameter seemed same as other fulvias but pressure ring slightly larger - more like a Flavia unit. Neale Shepherd supplied another S1.5 version for 818-740 box which fits well. Thankfully, no damage to clutch plate or flywheel surfaces.

The front right engine support bar was also cracked and this has been replaced by a new unit designed by afrementioned Neale S.

Meantime, the all New Alloy rad and heater matrix by James at Alloy Racing working perfectly and I hope to have new electronic Lucas based (c/o Luke Motorsport) dizzy working by Sunday.

Twas a bit of a mad rush from 6am onwards. Car drove down to track no issues. Signed on, Scrutineering fine, new driver briefing (as it was my first time at Donnington) was going well when my co-driver called to say unable to start the car! Turned out to be the new distributor - it is a prototype under development ( sleeve needs fixing to Lucas Motorsport unit). Back in with the old Magneti Marrelli and timing light - 28 deg advance at 5000rpm and she ran ever so sweetly!

We still didn't know which race we'd be in as we were 4th reserve for out Swinging Sixties race so CSCC offered us Future Classics. Practiced with SS and raced with FC.

All was going well until turning half way onto the apex at McLeans a 944 S2 pushed through on the inside and the result was a light impact on the front right wing. Alas indicator busted and a hand sized dent in lower section.

Not really necessary considering I was letting these big engined cars pass on the straights and out of corners all the time (one Fiat Coupe had 370bhp! and then there were the 7 litre V8 Yank tanks!). Still racing incidents, heat of the moment stuff and all that - and that is the risk we take when racing or crossing the road for that matter.

Anyone know of a source for Orange S1 Front Indicator lenses and a panel beater near Nottingham?

Lukas,
I suspect you know parts sources over there better than I do, Omicron being my only real reference point in the uk. However for a Panel Beater (though likely not inexpensive) You could try Ristes Motors. Steve Lovatt is well respected in Antique car circles... He is in Nottingham. I have been there. very impressive place and the workmanship we saw was excellent (this was circa 2000-2001)

Wilkinsons in Derby did my car. Andy who runs it came from Ristes. They do mainly pre-war but also look after the bodyshells of most of the racing Astons for Aston engineering clients.

They're on the Notts side of Derby (1/2 mile from end of A52)

They definitely come with my recommendation, but they might be overkill depending on the damage. If you want an introduction or a trip round let me know.

Tough Sh*t. Butt ugly 944 cruising into beautiful Fulvia...

I have seen these indicators on ebay.it from time to time...

Is that it for the season?

A prat in a Porsche--what are the odds? As Tim says, the indicators come up regularly on eBay. But most of the usual suspects (er, sources) should have them.
