Good afternoon all. Just wanted to post an update on the Beta Rally car. The cage is in, next weekend we are having a seam welding party, if you are near St. Louis, drop me a note! :) Once the shell is welded up, we will be building up the motor.
Initial plan for the the motor is forest rally cam, higher compression pistons, shaved flywheel, Sachs clutch, twin sidedrafts(most likely 40's), Crane electronic ignition and an LSD(once Gripper makes them). I've done a bit of research and the factory cars used the 4.462 final drive. Those never came to the States so i'll have to source one from Europe(anyone have one laying around???)
The suspension is nearly finished as well. We went with a complete custom system built up by a local rally expert. I'm really excited to mount these up.
I'm looking for suggestions for the brakes. I'd like to upgrade the calipers to a more modern system, anyone tried this?
